Netball Alberta Executive Positions

The Executive of Netball Alberta meets once a month and works tirelessly behind the scenes to keep Netball Alberta running. Everything from running registration to organizing fundraising events to planning trips and tournaments.

Julie Arnold: President

President Duties:

  • Oversees the running of all aspects of N.A
  • Acts as spokesperson for N.A.

Emma Wilton: Vice-President and Junior B Coordinator

V.P. Duties:

  • Position intended as a preliminary to the Presidency.
  • VP chairs meetings and performs the responsibilities of the President if absent
  • Is responsible for one other portfolio on the Executive.

Junior B Coordinator Diuties:

  • Planning & management of the Junior B programmes & services
  • Trains a Junior team & assists with mentoring of junior B coaches
  • Attends league & manages the smooth running  of the Junior B league, communicates with parents & Junior players,
  • Performs other duties as required related to Junior B programmes & development.

Caroline Csak: Registration Coordinator

Registration Duties:

  • Deals with Registration matters including fees, payment, receipts, coordinates the logistics of registrations, maintains member databases & member information
  • Performs other duties as required related to registration & membership.

Lavinia McElwee: League and Tournament Director

League and Tournament Duties:

  • Oversees the running of all aspects of N.A's Leagues and Tournaments & acts as spokesperson for N.A leagues/operational aspects if required
  • Sets the schedule of events for financial year including NA Leagues and Tournaments
  • Orders recognition awards

Lucy Park: Secretary

Secretary Duties:

  • Compiles agendas & records minutes for executive meetings & AGM
  • Deals with all correspondence relating to the position & performs other secretarial roles as required

Dorraine Neal: Treasurer

Treasurer Duties:

  • Must hold CFA Accreditation
  • Treasurer reports to the Executive on Association’s finances, provides financial recommendations to the executive
  • Acts as a signing authority on cheques
  • keeps accounting records current & deals with all correspondence relating to the position including budgets & taxes

Volunteer Needed: Marketing

Marketing Duties:

  • Seeks out sponsors and opportunities to market Netball Alberta
  • Liases with related organizations regarding Netball Alberta activities
  • Oversees and communicates regularly with the Netball Alberta webmaster & newsletter coordinator
  • Keeps samples of marketing & promotional collateral
  • Assists with promotion of registration, fundraising & other promotions/activities
  • Performs other duties & deals with all correspondence relating to the position

Jessica Young: Junior A Programme Coordinator:

Junior Programme Duties:

  • Assists with identification of development players at club level, overall planning & management of the Junior programmes & services
  • Trains a Junior team & assists with mentoring of junior  coaches
  • Attends league & manages the smooth running  of the Junior league, communicates with parents & Junior players,
  • Performs other duties as required related to Junior programmes & development.

Emma Streeter: Coaching Director

Coaching Duties:

  • Organizes coaches & managers for league & provincial teams
  • Coordinates NCCP courses & conducts NCCP level 1 practical coaching courses
  • Assists in selection of league teams, conducts netball 101 assessment clinics
  • Performs other coaching duties & manages all matters related to coaching

Rachel Sattin: Recreational Ladies Programme Coordinator

Recreational Ladies Programme Duties:

  • Manages the smooth running of the Senior B / Recreational league
  • Communicates with recreational players  to act as a ‘go between’ between players & the Executive
  • Assists with new player recruitment, registration, introductory netball programmes, fundraising & other duties as required.
