Calgary Spring Netball League Information

Spring League with Netball Alberta is the perfect time for people of all ages to try it for the first time. Junior Spring League (ages 9-15, boys and girls) play games on Sundays at Southland Leisure Center; there are no practices during the week. Senior players play Tuesdays at Southland Leisure Center or Wednesdays at Vivo. The league runs May - June. We also have an Adult Intro to Netball program running on Tuesdays.


 

Spring Junior League

Schedule

Season runs April 22 - June 17, no games on May 20.

Junior tournament June 23 12:30 - 7:30 pm.

The games are 1 hour, including 1/2 hour of training and 1/2 hour game play, played on Sundays between 5:00 and 8:00 pm at Southland Leisure Centre.

No mid-week training: There are no practices with this league.

Dress Code/Uniform: All players should wear indoor runners, a White T-shirt and Black Shorts. N.A. clothing will be available for sale. Remember to bring a water bottle each week.

Intro to Netball for Adults

Intro to Netball for Adults runs for 6 weeks at Southland Leisure Centre on Tuesdays, 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Each week, you will learn a few more aspects of the sport and play a short game to put those skills to work while having fun. If you have been contemplating trying netball out, this is the program for you. Bring a friend or two to learn this exciting sport!

Fee $75

Spring Senior B League

The League is played on Tuesday nights at 9:00 pm or Vivo Wednesday nights at 7:30 or 8:30 pm. Depending on registration, there may be no teams based out of one location or the other. Players need to be prepared to play at either location (format is subject to change dependent on registration demand).

Fee is $75

Season runs May 22 - June 27

Dress Code/Uniform: All players should wear indoor runners, a White T-shirt and Black Shorts.

  • Registration is limited to 60 spaces and will close upon payment receipt of the first 60 registrants. (Dependent on registration demand, alternative team/game format might be considered to accommodate higher participation, at the discretion of Netball Alberta).
  • Because we expect league to reach capacity, each team is expected to have 10 players. The team manager will be expected to rotate players fairly so all players spend equal time on court.
  • Spring league is open to women, girls and boys of Senior B level. (A maximum of two males (U18) per team on the court at any time).
  • Spring league is a non-competitive, friendly league, for some this may be their first time playing netball.
  • Inappropriately rough or overly-competitive play or behaviour will not be allowed.
  • Players will be allocated to teams. If you have a preference for a team or team-mate please specify on the registration form and we will do our best to accommodate your request, however in the interest of balancing teams this is not guaranteed.
