Registration Information for Spring League

Our Spring league programs are very relaxed and perfect for anyone new to netball. They are short, inexpensive sessions that run only one day per week. So if you have been thinking you want to try out this fun, team-oriented sport, join us!

 

 

 

Spring Junior League 2017 - Register HERE

Netball Alberta's Spring Junior Netball League runs from April 23 – June 18, 2017 plus a Junior A (U16) tournament June 24, 2017

No games on May 21

The games are  played on Sundays, 1 hour games played between 5:00 and 8:00 pm at Southland Leisure Centre.

No mid-week training: There are no practices with this league.

Dress Code/Uniform: All players should wear indoor runners, a White T-shirt and Black Shorts. N.A. clothing will be available for sale. Remember to bring a water bottle each week.

Intro to Netball for Adults 2017 - Register HERE

This year we are offering an "Intro to Netball for Adults" program which runs for 6 weeks, May 23 - June 27 at Southland Leisure Centre on Tuesdays, 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Each week, you will learn a few more aspects of the sport and play a short game to put those skills to work while having fun. If you have been contemplating trying netball out, this is the program for you. Bring a friend or two to learn this exciting sport!

Spring Senior B League 2017 - Register HERE

Netball Alberta's Spring Senior Netball League for Senior B (recreational) players runs from May 23 – June 28, 2017.

The League is played on Tuesday nights at 8:00 pm & 9:00 pm or Vivo Wednesday nights at 7:30 or 8:30 pm (format is subject to change dependent on registration demand).

Fee: $75

Dress Code/Uniform: All players should wear indoor runners, a White T-shirt and Black Shorts.

  • Registration is limited to 80 spaces (20 at Vivo and 60 at Southland) and will close upon payment receipt of the first 80 registrants. (Dependent on registration demand, alternative team/game format might be considered to accommodate higher participation, at the discretion of Netball Alberta).
  • Because we expect league to reach capacity, each team is expected to have 10 players. The team manager will be expected to rotate players fairly so all players spend equal time on court.
  • Spring league is open to women, girls and boys of Senior B level. (A maximum of two males (U18) per team on the court at any time).
  • Spring league is a non-competitive, friendly league, for some this may be their first time playing netball.
  • Inappropriately rough or overly-competitive play or behaviour will not be allowed.
  • Players will be allocated to teams. If you have a preference for a team or team-mate please specify on the registration form and we will do our best to accommodate your request, however in the interest of balancing teams this is not guaranteed.

Other Important Information

League Rule regarding Jewelry and Gloves

There will be no taping of jewelry allowed, except for a wedding ring and medical bracelet(s). All piercings to be removed prior to taking to the court (no exceptions).

Gloves are to be worn for medical conditions only. The gloves must be approved by the umpire prior to play and nails should be short underneath the gloves in line with those playing without gloves.
